About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Engineer to join a fast-growing travel technology company building its own end-to-end booking platform. This is a high-impact, hands-on role where you will play a key part in evolving the product from a proposal tool into a fully integrated booking engine.

You will work directly with a globally distributed team (India + US), contributing to core product development and bringing strong expertise in travel domain and GDS integrations, especially SABRE.

This is a new position, created to expand technical expertise and improve timezone coverage with the U.S.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain integrations with SABRE APIs and/or other GDS systems

• Develop and enhance a booking engine supporting hotels, flights, and future travel services

• Work on backend services and APIs powering travel workflows (booking, ticketing, cancellations)

• Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and QA teams across different timezones

• Take ownership of features end-to-end, from design to production

• Ensure scalability, performance, and reliability of integrations and systems

• Contribute to improving engineering practices (code quality, testing, architecture maturity)

Must-Have Requirements

• Strong experience in travel technology / travel domain

• Hands-on experience with SABRE APIs (highly preferred)

  • Experience with other GDS (Amadeus, Travelport) can be considered

• Solid backend engineering experience (5–10+ years or equivalent expertise)

• Experience building API integrations and distributed systems

• Strong understanding of:

  • Booking flows (air, hotel, etc.)

  • Ticketing and cancellations

  • GDS ecosystem and travel workflows

• Experience with PHP (Laravel) or strong backend experience with ability to adapt

• Experience with relational databases (MySQL or similar)

• Ability to work autonomously and operate in a senior IC capacity

Nice to Have

• Experience with Python or other backend languages

• Experience with AWS (or GCP / Azure)

• Exposure to NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB)

• Experience working in scaling products or startup environments

• Familiarity with improving CI/CD, testing, and engineering processes
