Senior Engineering Lead (Java + Angular)

The company is seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Lead to drive technical excellence and lead cross-functional teams in delivering scalable, high-performance systems. This role combines hands-on engineering, architectural decision-making, and team leadership in a fast-paced, product-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor cross-functional engineering squads, fostering a strong culture of collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.

  • Drive the design and delivery of scalable, resilient, and high-performing systems.

  • Contribute hands-on to the codebase using Java (Spring Boot, Hibernate) and Angular.

  • Lead architectural discussions, balancing trade-offs between performance, quality, and delivery timelines.

  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers, QA Leads, and other Engineering Leaders to align on priorities and execution strategies.

  • Champion best practices in system design, microservices architecture, and cloud-native development.

  • Promote Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps practices across teams.

  • Support hiring, coaching, and career development of engineers.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 9+ years of experience in software engineering, including proven technical leadership in cross-functional teams.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Java (Spring Boot, Hibernate) and Angular.

  • Solid background in system design and microservices architecture.

  • Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, mentor engineers, and drive alignment across squads.

  • Experience collaborating with Product, QA, and Engineering stakeholders.

  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum and DevOps practices.

  • Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written).

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Experience in regulated industries such as gaming, betting, or financial services.

  • Strong knowledge of observability, performance optimization, and risk management.

  • Experience acting as a bar raiser for engineering standards and culture.

  • Familiarity with Python or Bash scripting, and containerization tools like Docker/Kubernetes.

  • Experience mentoring across multiple teams or organizational levels.
